The Tablea Factory
Tablea is a spanish word meaning tablet. It is made from pure cacao beans that are dried, roasted, ground and then form into tablets.
Cocoa or Cacao (Theobroma cacao) is an important commodity in the world market. This kind of business is very in demand internationally and is growing at about 90,000 tons. According to the record of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the country exports $6 million-worth of raw cacao beans, but it imports $100 million-worth of fermented beans from other cocoa producers. Fermented beans was said to be the source of real chocolate taste and texture. And that is what our chocolate industry wants to change—to produce our very own finest gourmet chocolate by using our own cacao as well. Currently, the Philippines is producing 10, 000 metric tons of cocoa beans per year and accounts for less than 0.5 % world supply.
The province of Batangas produces one of the best cacaos in the Philippines, due to its suitable tropic weather. We as a chocolate company, we have decided to uplift Batangas cacao industry by having them as our supplier with our business. We also want to give opportunity to the Batangueno farmers to earn income and be part of the cacao industry's dream in having our local gourmet chocolates
The Tablea Factory produces delectable artisan chocolates that are made from 100 percent local cacao. The company gets the raw cacao directly from a group of farmers in Mabini Batangas. The tablea company makes sure to only use the freshest ingredients from our local farmers.
The company aims not only to sell our product but also to give the consumers the taste of Filipino tradition. Our goals are to generate livelihood for cacao farmers in Batangas, to elevate the cacao industry, to give back to the society by encouraging the consumers to bring plastic bottles to be donated to "Plastic ni Juan" in exchange for a 20 percent discount on our products and lastly to reintroduce Filipino chocolates to the world.
